Face Cards
Jack, Queen or King, all having a face value of 10.

Hard Hand
A hand that contains an Ace in which the Ace is counted as 11 and not as 1. Examble if you had an Ace and two eights, the hand is a hard 17.

Hit
Ask for another card to be dealt.

Hole Card
The term used to describe the dealers face down card.

House
Online Casino or Land Casino.

House Percentage

Insurance

Shoe Game
The term given to the house rule of the dealer standing on a 17 hand.

Soft Hand
A hand in which an Ace is counted as 11 such as hand containing an Ace and a six which totals 17 --Soft 17--.

Split Hands
When you first two cards dealt are of equal value, you are allowed to play them as two separate hands.

Stand
When a player decides not to hit anymore and remain with the cards in their hand.

Stand Hand
A hand that has total of a hard 17, when the player stands and takes no further action.

Stiff Hand A hand with little chances of winning. Stiff hands are usually hands that are valued from 12 to 16.

Surrender
The option that allows you to quit the current hand you are playing and only losing half of your initial bet.

Upcard
The dealers first dealt card, placed face up for all the players to see before they play their own hands
